Hello, I’m Ximena Araya

I am a Mechanical Engineer and mining consultant based in Calgary, with a Master's degree and more than a decade of experience supporting mining operations across Canada and Latin America.

My career has given me a practical understanding of the challenges mining organizations face — from maintenance planning and asset reliability to operational improvement and the adoption of new technologies.

I founded Foix Consulting to bring that experience together in a way that creates value for mining companies, technology providers, and professionals.

I am particularly passionate about connecting innovation with operational reality. New technologies can create significant opportunities for mining, but successful implementation depends on understanding the people, processes, and conditions in which those technologies will be used.

I also believe that people are at the centre of mining's future. Through mentoring and coaching, I support professionals as they develop their skills, navigate career opportunities, and build meaningful careers in a changing industry.
